I have heard it all...how outdated the Tundra is. Yet, i just talked to a guy who was working on his JEEP in a parking lot and got talking to him. He bought a new 2018 RAM and told me at 30 000 kms the engine blew up and then at 60 000 kms the rear diff locked up on the highway. Then there is people i know who have had timing chain failure on their F150 Ecobust. One was my cousin. I have owned a GMC Sierra and it was a big pile of 💩💩💩. So for all you who love to trash Toyota in General...Please...PLEASE keep buying big 3 💩piles...I switched to Toyota....was the single BEST choice I ever made.

The more old school the better. The next thing Ford F-150 will have is a heated tailgate.

I'm the "if it's not broken, then don't try to fix it" kinda guy. But if Toyota want to stay competitive in the future, then they need more new innovations.

Today I test drove gmc 3500 turbo diesel it was amazing but felt lack in quality. It had to many technology and I really got overwhelmed. Love the simplicity of toyota hope they keep it this way

That army green is awesome. If I had the cash I’d buy this truck before redesign its well proven

They’ll be redesigning the truck very soon so we just have to wait to see what’s next

I can’t wait to see what they do in 2022. I’m finally ready to pull the trigger but they need a big time update or I’m going with Ram. Great review as always Ben.

Love this truck, I have a platinum 2014, no mechanical issues at all. But yes there is a but. I. Loyal to the brand but change needs to happen soon . Engine is indestructible but she drinks to much. And for God sake make a bed 6.5 feet with 4 full doors for us who use it for work!

It's the best truck but it looks basically the same as when my mom bought one in 2007. But I love this truck

The interior is sooo outdated. It’s sad that companies throw cloth interiors into vehicles that they put a premium price tag on

I bought a 2019 and it came with an engine for life guarantee. Is that the same with the 2021; or has that ended?

The army green with all that chrome doesn’t look good. Army green looks good on the trd pro with the badges blacked out and the trd pro grill. Chrome and army green just don’t look as good.

Watching you go thru those neighborhoods makes me want to take a trip to Utah it's so nice I use to visit a friend years ago seeing those neighborhoods just a reminder of it.

I can't take the mpg whining and complaining! I've had 3 Tundras. You can average 15, mixed driving. Not great/ not bad. The more other trucks dangle the 20mpg carrot, the more everyone wants it. I've had Rangers that got worse economy. Friend has a 3.5EB, 10spd. After tune and tires, 15mpg! True, it's faster, but it's also less reliable (spent time at Ford dealer several times). Smiles per gallon, people! I drive 20k/yr. Tundras have NEVER failed me. Also, the old dash and stack are boring, but not in your field of view, looking out over the hood.

The new tundra looks really good but I personally think that it's time for a redesign and new interior

I hope they keep the V8 as an option for the 2022 new model

Getting insane offers for my 18. But the only difference in 3 years is infotainment, push button start, green .

Looks exactly like my 2018.
Only thing I saw different was push button start.
The estimated fuel mileage is not near actual.
Mine get about 17 highway and 13 city.
Bring back the supercharger.

I like the reliability but the absence of diesel engine option and outdated tech is going to be a game-changer. I love my 2018 1794 edition but it sucks at towing big time. My 3.0L diesel SUV tows better than my Tundra. If there is no significant updates in 2022 i will be switching to one of the big 3.
