I’m glad you brought up security of generating a seed phrase. I heard someone say you should put your phone in airplane mode (essentially disabling WiFi) during seed phrase generation. It makes sense that if your phone already has malware on it, air gapping would not help if the malware physically resides on the phone - if it is only resident in the phone’s memory, shutting down, waiting, and restarting ‘should’ clear it.

I practice safe browsing, keep the OS up to date, screen any app I install (Apple is better than Google in screening apps they allow in the App Store), periodically check all apps installed to ensure nothing snuck in, run a VPN, prohibit app tracking, restrict sharing, and am mindful of any unusual phone behavior - battery use, data use, physical phone storage, etc.

Am I missing anything obvious?

Excellent video! What's interesting is that I do recall an interview with some of the Tangem folks (forget who exactly). In that interview, he mentioned that seed phrases pose so many problems, which I believe is why Tangem originally went seedphrase-less. It's basically which of the following is the lesser of two evils:
1) Lose all of your Tangem cards.
2) Lose access to your seed phrase (or it gets stolen).

Besides factory reset is there an app to see if you have malware

I have done this, and still feel insecure because @3:48 when the app show the seed (even after I factory reset phone, then install tangem app, turn off wifi/data before starting the app). I dont know if my phone has malware or not (after the reset), can they see the seed?, and after all step completed, I reset the card, reset the app, then import the seed to make sure its working (all while data/wifi is off), can some malware see it too?

I think Im highly paranoid, I do that in an empty room, with phone camera covered.

In this specific scenario, ledger/trezor are better, because its generated within the device.

I wonder what the process are with tangem is it:

at first tap/activation, its instantly generate seed phrase, then when user choose generate seed phrase its only show in the first step.

Question - If I have setup my ring with seed phrase on paper, if my phone breaks, can I scan my ring on a friend's phone for example if they have the app and sign in with just my passphrase, or will it detect its a new device and prompt me to enter seed? Thank you.

Also should I write down the numbers on my cards? I'm guessing they will fade over time or is it unnecessary?

Also how can I stamp my seeds into those metal things myself as I wouldn't trust soneone with the seed to do for me. Thabk you very much in advance.

When importing a 24 word seed phrase from a metal storage plate can you just enter the first 4 letters of each word and not the whole word or does Tangem complete the full word after you put in the first 4 letters?

Totally agree. Not your keys, not your coins. Bit concerning still, that the seed phrase is/was known to the phone, so it’s not really a cold wallet.

What if a bad actor that works for Tangem decides to fleece our crypto.? I know the card generates a seedless option, but what if this worst case scenario happens?

Are you sure if you loose access to the application while your seedprase was automatically generated by the app; you will still get your crypto back ? It means app gone crypto gone if automatic key is generated. Or am getting it wrong

So I messed up and made the wallet without the seed phrase, can I just factory reset the card and make a new wallet on it with a seed phrase?

The question i want to know is if you set tangem up with a seed phrase what do you now use the cards for can they still be used to verify transactions?
