Used one just like it in a small shop in Broderick Cali. for almost ten years. Saw the introduction of converters in the 1976 Chevys. That was a good little machine if you changed the oil once in a while and cleaned often. Had an attachment to surface flat tappets on the right side. I was doing three angel valve jobs constantly. Large clumps of rubbery build up under valves would choke the engine out. Had to grind it off. You learn to wear PPE the hard way. We would send the heads out if the guides were wobbled out. Shop used a place on T street called Nichols and sons. Freddy Nichols was a buddy of my boss and they would BS on the phone all the time. Roy would say Freddy where is my Stuff man, the customer is boiling mad. This and other things were a diversion from the tedious boredom of work.6/22/2025 Sac. Cali.

Great old machines. Every service station had one back in the day. i am blessed to own 2 of them. You're missing the stopper that goes in the back of the chuck to set the valve's depth in the chuck. makes life a lot easier. The valve length tool is for setting lash on flatheads.

There's nothing in the pump end, other than the oil seal.
The hollowed end of the spinning shaft acts as your centrifugal pump.
Fluid goes in the center, and comes out the side.
Chicago Rawhide still carries the proper seal.
