The Unchanging God | James Dolezal

The depravity of the human race has been blatantly displayed in every place throughout all of history. The Apostle Paul was clearly right when he said, “None is righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10).

This truth is illustrated every day. We see riots in the streets, corruption in government, perversion in marriage, and then, of course, there is plenty of sin remaining in our very own flesh. The Reformer, John Calvin, taught that such things should turn our gaze to God. He wrote, “Indeed, our very poverty better discloses the infinitude of benefits reposing in God. The miserable ruin, into which the rebellion of the first man cast us, especially compels us to look upward.”

We have all sorts of trouble down here because we have neglected to look up there. We are made in the image of God. But many have forgotten God, leaving the phrase “image of God” meaningless. Now is a time to know God and worship Him. Calvin also said, “Nearly all the wisdom we possess, that is to say, true and sound wisdom, consists of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.” Man no longer knows himself. But there is no way to rediscover the truth about man without first coming to a true knowledge of God.

This presentation was given by Dr. James Dolezal on January 22, 2021 at the Founders "The Only God" national conference in Southwest Florida.

Listened to his sermons on the simplicity and impassability of God last night and have been so blessed by them. This man has a great gift of taking very complex doctrines and making them extremely easy to understand. Knowledge of these doctrines lead to deeper praise of God and awe of who He is!

The applications of God's impassibility are infinite. As a perfectionist, I can find my rest in God knowing that any change that I make is fleeting and wearying, but all changes that God makes in me are permanent, foremost, a new heart in his bringing me to life in Christ. I don't have to wear myself out being a better person. I can rest and strive to be all that he has already done. To the extent that I fail in the latter, I must return to his completed promise and trust that it is finished.

I was so encouraged by how Dolezal concluded his sermon in Hebrews. I just finished a study in Hebrews with women in my church and he tightened the bow for me on things I missed or didn't fully appreciate.

"To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen" (Jude 1:25, King James 2000 Bible)

What terrible exegesis. Aristotelian metaphysics are not from God but of sinful man.

Malachi 3:6 does not say "God" it says, "LORD." Reading: "For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed" (Mal 3:6, KJV). Because we do not distinguish between the terms Lord and God, we have no means to appreciate what Malachi dedicates to us. And because you do not make any distinction between Lord and God when it comes to Malachi 3:6, which is the foundation of your argument. The whole of your argument is specious.

Even more so, when it comes to, not only our God as Christians but even where it pertains to the Jewish and Islamic gods. ALL of these gods change. And they change under a single principle which effectively makes them all of the same Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and Mark 12:29-30).

They change under the rubric of incest between brother and sister in that to propagate mankind, God-Jehovah, Allah, and God-Jesus ALL dispense with incest in the beginning to propagate mankind. Yet, in Leviticus 20:17, we discover how incest now emerges as a sin, reading: "And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity" (Lev 20:17).

So, unless you make the distinction between Lord and God that you enter the truths and revelations of the Bible, your God is not of the Bible, since your God changes, and necessarily so.
