Grandparents could say the same thing during WW2 when a lot of food items were severely restricted. That DIDN'T stop for 7 or 8 years after.
What's brutal in this is the majority of people already live in grinding poverty, there's NO money left for them, but the ultra-wealthy, oligarchs, no problem other than their foreign properties are out of reach.
The economy is faltering.
