How to back up Android SMS messages to Gmail

Here is how Android users can back up important SMS and MMS messages to Gmail with a simple app.

Up until last month, this app worked with the right steps... It was the best! But now, it's been blocked completely by Gmail .. it doesn't let you use any app that aren't "safe" ...

Notice: As of 8/3/19 This app no longer connects to Gmail due to Not being verified by google in order to use google to sign in. nor can it get token from server automatically.
So in essence it no longer works. (at this time)

This is not developed by Google and sharing credential to unauthorized app is risky affair. My recommendation is not to use this app.

first of all, this app is not made by google it says made by jan berkel who is he??? so its not safe to backup through this because your bank and one time password all kind of stuff passes through this and theres a chance it can be safe

I tired it out and it missed a good portion of them just randomly leaving them off. When rerun it says all backed up. NOT!!!

Would not allow backup. Google could not authenticate and get token. "App has not been verified by Google yet".

Doesn't even backup ALL your messages. Say you had a conversation with 200 messages all together in it, it'll only back up 100 of those messages.

How can I archive the text messages before I delete a specific account? For example, if I have an "ex" who keeps texting me and I might want to later have to prove harassment to the authorities... ThanQ. Nice short video.
