I'm So glad We Had This Time Together

Performed by Hal Gauldin with Eryn Eubanks during Eryn’s final music jam at the Acoustic Coffeehouse in the Bible Deliverance Temple in Augusta, GA May 16, 2015. After 7 years of jamming nearly every Saturday of the year, Eryn and her bandmates are going in new directions and, while jamming will continue, it will be with different timing and at a different venue. Over these 7 years, Eryn has played and sung with more than 50 different pickers and singers and has provided musical joy and companionship to many more.
Hal marvelously captured the moods of sorrow but thankful remembrance for all who came out to here this final jam with his poignant rendering of the famous Carol Burnett song.
“I’m So glad We Had This Time Together” was the closing theme song of the Carol Burnett show, written by Burnett's husband, Joe Hamilton, with the following lyrics:
I'm so glad we had this time together
Just to have a laugh or sing a song
Seems we just get started and before you know it
Comes the time we have to say, "So long."
At the close of each episode Burnett would tug her ear. This silent message was meant for her grandmother who raised her, and meant she was thinking of her at that moment. After her grandmother's death, Burnett continued the tradition.
