Heavy rainfall in Alberta has extinguished wildfire activity enough for people in several communities to return to their homes, including O’Chiese First Nation, Yellowhead County and Swan Hills.

Fox Creek’s evacuation order has also been lifted, bringing residents a sense of relief and gratitude despite the lingering risk of a flare-up.

Neetu Garcha reports on the emotional homecoming and explains why not everyone is eager to go back.

Why are you not reporting on the arson which caused the fires?

I'm glad Alberta saved a few pennies by getting rid of their regional firefighting departments. Very farsighted of them.

“I will heap on them one disaster after another,
I will use up all my arrows on them:
pangs of hunger, ravages of plague,
and bitter pestilence.” – (Deuteronomy 32: 23-24) –

Good morning, I have a concern with the railway I am a passenger of the VIA rail railway and I am a wildland fire fighter environmental monitor indigenous caretaker of our land I’ve been taking the fire fighting courses before I was 16 years old as I ride the passenger train usually once to twice a month as I look out the passenger train coming from Prince George to Smithers there is a lot of fuel laying near the tracks for fire to be ignited and I once experienced an ember flying off the a rail car from oil build up and iron ore from the rock all through the railroad tracks this is a major concern because the fire season has started early this season I am wanting to know if you can end these issues and post on the job board all over British Columbia. Pass it on it creates jobs
