i love the little confused and amazed "they're all dead." it's like he's in a zombie/virus apocalypse movie and he and his companions all walk into the place they'd been traveling to for days now, because last they heard it'd be safe, full of military men and doctors, people who could help them. and yet all they can find is weeks-old corpses. "...they're all dead..."
