Why I like Aether Gazer more than PGR! I'm just simple!

Hello Everyon!

Aether Gazer is definitely a hidden gem, and for someone like me, so much more fun and easier to play compared to PGR! Does it mean it's better than PGR? Probably not! But do I like it more? Absolutely! If you have the opportunity to play it I think you should!

I was actually looking for a video exactly like this. Not necessarily of one bias or another, but you showed the basic features of AG very well.
After sticking with Wuthering Waves from launch and loving it to this day, I was surprised how much more complex and time consuming PGR can be, it didn't really stick with me when I tried it with the only faith of being a Kuro game. I think I'll give Aether Gazer a try and perhaps I will like the different combat a bit more. I'm in need of a decent hack and slash to fill the time between other open world and strategy games I keep up with currently and this would be perfect if it's not as huge of a time investment.

I completely (and respectfully) disagree here.
Firstly, I like the designs of pgr more. One crucial thing to look at is early character designs vs current character designs. I’m not a fan of early AG or PGR designs, but in terms of more recent designs, I think pgr wins out for me.
Secondly, grinding in PGR is really easy, you just spend the serum and it gives you a currency you can spend to get whatever materials you need, don’t even have to farm specific stages. It also lets you spend up to 240 serum at a time which is amazing. In pgr, materials are pretty much the only thing you spend serum on, because most of the other stuff doesn’t use it.
Thirdly, I found the pinging system more rewarding than AG’s system. In AG, attacking has no thought, just do basic attacks unless you can do special attacks. In pgr, the basic attack is there so you can do the special attacks, and the special attacks require a bit of thought to perform. The most important part of the combat in these games for me is actually the core passives (basically the special things characters can do). I’ve found pgr’s characters to have really good core passives, but AG I haven’t really had any interesting ones yet (although it’s still early on in global).
What I will agree on though is the time dedication pgr requires. Pgr takes a lot of time, and that is definitely a downside, but in return I think the positives heavily outweigh the negatives. In the end the main reason why I stopped AG is cause the gameplay was too simple for me.

Pardon my big block of text, yeah maybe it wasn’t worth my time :P

AG is way more friendly, I think the best part is the storytelling because it's voiced and easier to follow but I like PGR more, the characters design, the challenging gameplay, the orb system (I think thats incredible and better than wait for the cooldown of your skills) are just too cool, AG is a good game like honkai impact but pgr is way too different and that's what I like more (I still wish the novel was voiced like these two games though)

I like AG for several reasons:

1. Simple and dynamic combat, I have 3 skills (not 8 orbs) that deal fixed damage. I can play the character I want from start to finish without switching to another, either on purpose or accidentally.

2. I have characters with names, not 15 different types of the same one with a different title. In Honkai it worked very well, however PGR was not able to have the same success imo.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to pick up the story and read it calmly but I will at some point. In addition to the daily and weekly farm being much more peaceful.

PGR the niche combat game where the there is no 50/50 pity, and its built around the gameplay instead of the story.
We are painfully aware that the plot exist as a background context on why we are fighting the Cast of Devil Nier: Revengeance.
The majority of PGR players are in it for the Combat and combat only and the Devs knows this which is why they installed the Skip Button.
The RNG orbs system is just another layer of difficulty that we really don't give a fuck about since the game is disguised as a rhythm game where you must learn how to dodge your enemies not just by visual cue but also audio cue.
The combat system of PGR is both simple and complicated.
Simple, cuz we have a dodge button and dodging in this game grants us invincibility for fraction of a second, and on the other hand doing a perfect dodge in this game reveals that we are DIO disguised as an anime cyborg and stopping time in this game makes a normal 1 orb into a 3 ping orb.
On a complicateder level each characters are unique in how they play and how their orbs interact with one another, thus in order for you to git gud in the game, you must either READ or Watch a TLDR guide.
Combine them both and you got yourself a dance of dodging perfectly, attacking to build up orbs, and using ZA WARUDO to unleash hell when the time is right. On a side note the devs in Kuro are absolute madlads with their music choice and Voice actors, they literally put Saber Alter into the game, in fact plenty of characters in PGR are just downright meme characters such as Alpha which is literally just Vergil but anime.

AG combat is pretty slow paced and kinda make me sleepy, the orb system in pgr may be complicated, but its pretty easy to learn and im not a fan of cooldown-ish thing, but it's good for people who didnt want to bother learning the gameplay mechanic and just click click, wait for cooldown, click click again

grinding is kinda easy in PGR lol xD

the story is decent and it has voiced too ! Unlike PGR which is PowerPoint -_- ( not bad story tho but... its hard to read.. sleepy)

for design... i feel like PGR is better tbh... well for me

Dude....how long ago have u played pgr? U can max a weapon easy. Just press max and thats it. Done. Same for ur gears/memories. And u mentioned u van only use one unit at a time but u can switch between 3 characters. U cant do that in AG. Also, grinding in pgr is practically non-existent meaning u can just get the gears one shot and get the stats u want one shot as well as long as u have memory sticks

Keep it up with the videos! Finally found someone who shares my views on Higan and Aether. They're not perfect games by any means compared to other games out there but they somehow have the pace and gameplay that is comfortable with me and hopefully some other players out there as well.

I played PGR and still have it on my phone. I actually reinstalled it but am not really playing it as comoared before. It's probably because of the experience I had when I played Aether. I liked Aether better, I even topped up to get the free Buzenbo and the 30day package for Shifter.
