Today's topic is about verifying checksum in Linux, using both terminal and GUI.

When you download files from internet, it could be good to verify the checksum of the file. The checksum verification enables you to know whether the downloaded file is corrupted or manipulated.

This checksum verification is widely used with big files like the ISO image file of Linux distributions. Verifying checksum helps you in preventing possible installation issues.

What font are you using in the terminal.

The checksum tells if you have downloaded a infected download but bad actors can upload a infected file with an updated checksum to hide the fact that the file is infected.

Is there a way to check the validity of a Mint install after the install ?
I have Linux Mint installed on my Dell T3610 and ALL it does is crash browsers and thunderbird email.
If it’s not the Mint install could it be my ECC memory ? Just guessing. It’s driving me bonkers.
