US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is pressing ahead with a diplomatic tour of the Middle East in the hope of securing a cease-fire in Gaza. He said negotiators have received a response from Hamas on a framework for a potential hostage deal.
Blinken said he plans to discuss the deal with Israeli leaders on Wednesday after holding talks with the Qatari prime minister today in Doha.

I hope the American people can prevent our government from involving us in another war that will cost trillions. Given past performance we need to stay home and sit it out. Since Vietnam each war follows the same pattern, many people die, vast sums of money are wasted, and we end up packing up and just leaving behind a mess.
