I’d say both complement each-other. If you want to chill and relax, TDS is good, you can try new ways of winning because of the variety of towers without tryharding that much. If you instead want to go for a challenge, TDX is good too because of all new functionalities, and difficulty of bosses. You can go try new ways of winning too, but it is indeed harder than TDS. I love more TDX than TDS, but that doesn’t mean I dislike TDS, and I respect the others that like TDS more than TDX.

I think tdx is really similar to tds except john used his experience in tds to make tdx not have the problems tds does, but honestly, td games are really brutal to start off in and I'm not bothered to grind another td game.

For those who are talking about which one is better, i say both while tds is good but has some problems to fix but td. Had better updates, bosses and modes but i still say both bc they're still decent for most players so it depends on what your favorite game while mine is tdx bc i used to love tds but bc the lagging that ofc tds did not fix i became tdx instead bc there's no issues and even the bosses are so op that they will kill like a war machine from terminator 😊

both of the games are fine
however the development team is a different story
john is wacky and probably not the greatest person but atleast he doesnt overwork his devs to the point of hospitalization (looking at you below)
