Wheelbase should actually be the distance between the axles.
To simplify it, the distance between the inner holes is assumed.

Changing wheelbase moves the fulcrum that your pop torques around. A shorter wheelbase places your axel further from your tail, and the longer lever (and lighter counterweight) lets you get more pop for less effort. It's not necessarily better or worse, but it can be appealing for smaller skaters. The shorter turning radius is kind of an afterthought to me - nothing a kick turn couldn't achieve all the same.

As a short dude, wheelbase makes a huge difference on how the board flicks. Its not just about turn radius.

It looks like changing the wheelbase will effect the nose and tail lengths. Which will effect manuals and (n)ollies. Just something to keep in mind.

I remember the original trucks from the early 90's. A friend had a pair that he ground down to the axle. Who remembers the double truck hole boards and trucks. I am a few weeks older than Jamie Thomas who is 50.

The three holes for mounting looks just like a snowboard binding. It's a cool idea. You could totally customize your wheelbase. I'd be really interested to try these someday.
