Chevy Chase, born Cornelius Crane Chase on 8th October 1943 in New York City, is a versatile American comedian, actor and writer, with a career spanning several decades. Rising to fame as one of the original cast members of "Saturday Night Live" in the 1970s, Chase's deadpan humour and physical comedy made him a standout on the groundbreaking sketch comedy show.
Transitioning to film, Chase achieved great success with iconic roles in classic comedies such as "Foul Play" alongside Goldie Hawn, "Caddyshack" with Bill Murray, and as the hapless Clark W. Griswold in the "National Lampoon's Vacation" series. His performances in "Fletch", "Spies Like Us", and "The Three Amigos", further solidified his status as a comedic force in Hollywood.
