The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Fences,” “Lady Bird”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.

My most anticipated movie of 2023! The book is my favourite of all and the first movie was spectacular. Denis Villaneuve can do no wrong! Bless the maker!! Guys it’s no longer about set up but all about action and vengeance🔥🔥

Keep those expectations high boys the second half of the first book is way more epic and engaging than Part One. The first part setup lots of tension and world building, part two is about to unleash us into the next level! Lots more action this time and some crazy reveals ahead!

The beginning of the trailer is for the book fans. There are multiple instantly recognizable amazing scenes from the book.

Not a flashback it's Feyd-Rautha who is Rabban's (Bautista) younger brother and lethal fighter. The introduction is his fight in an arena and it's shot in B+W.

Also the Trailer IS TRAILERING, Jei - it's showing little of the film and some new and exciting shots and changes from the first - the official trailer after this tease will be as explosive as you want Jei, right now it's trying to see if interest is still there. It's a continuation of part 1 and not a sequel. It's still got to be immersive and somewhat fresh even if you've seen elements from the first film present themselves it's because the setting hasn't changed. |That's probably why you want more and still think this trailer isn't enough. It's like The Two Towers to Lord of the Rings, a continuation.

I can't wait until the masses that never read the books realize - finally - what Paul really is. What he represents. All criticisms of the first movie will melt away.

I don’t understand how this isn’t more hyped. I’m so pumped. The times more pumped than I would be for a Star Wars movie. And I love Star Wars.

I think thing Sam doesn't get is the original Dune book came out before most famous sci-fi films and series. The fact is that Dune is what inspired things like Star Wars and Warhammer 40, 000 and many other sci-fi films, series, books and games. Only tricky thing with Dune is that so far it's always been hard to translate it from books to films/series. It's like trying to turn any of the Cthulhu mythos books into a film.

5:01 the director has no control over the trailer. It's another company that does it.

So don't blame Dennis Villeneuve 😂

My theory in the black and white is that while it will be a consistent visual method, it is also them pulling a Kill Bill and using black and white to be as gory and bloody as possible without getting an R rating or something.

Paul getting full power from “The Water of Life, ” gives him full Godpower is the thing.

No spoilers but I will say that the Sand-Rider test is not the thing that determines if Paul is the chosen one. Stilgar is just surprised someone from another planet who wasn’t raised Fremen and doesn’t have the training that they do was able to do it first try. As someone who’s read the first two books, this trailer is full of stuff for people who HAVE read the books. I’m *very* excited for what they have in store based on what’s in this trailer. They haven’t shown their full hand at all. It may call itself a trailer, but it’s definitely more of a tease, especially for people who haven’t read the books so I understand where y’all are coming from. Great reaction as always though!

Reminder: Dune was written in the 1960's, before Star Wars. Dune Part 1 was only the 1st half of book 1. This 2nd movie finishes that book. Then if there is a 3rd movie made to cover the 2nd book it jumps like 20 years ahead and is more of a political thriller. Personally, can't wait for this.

I definitely think this is gonna deliver for the things you want, this part of the book is where most of the book comes from and a lot of shit goes down and Denis has described this as a war epic and that’s definitely what the rest of the novel feels like. What’s interesting is stuff that I know is in the film, hasn’t even been touched in the trailer and that tells me the next will have even more to show off spectacle wise. And I like that because I get kinda bored when the same stuff is reused in trailers and they don’t have anything new to show each time.

Love watching your reactions guys. BTW you talked about the black n white scenes as flashbacks, but they are definitely not. The new bald character is not a young version of Glossu Rabban (Dave Bautista) but his younger brother Feyd-Rautha. He is the heir to their house of Harkonnen. Most likely the black n white scenes take place on the Harkonnen's home planet Giedi Prime during Feyd-Rautha's duel with a captive Atreides warrior. Just further along in the trailer is a shot of Lea Seydoux's character, lady Margot, looking through binoculars. According to the book, Feyd wanted to dedicate this victory to her. So, it all fits together.

This and Oppenheimer are my two most hyped films this year. Nolan and Denis are flexin' on us every time they release a film. We are blessed to live in this time.
