Lassiter has Shawn and Juliet strapped up to a lie detector to clarify everything about their secret relationships and Shawn's psychic abilities.

From Season 6, Episode 1. "Shawn Rescues Darth Vader":
While helping a young client get his Star Wars Collector Action Figure back from a wealthy man, Shawn finds the action figure and a dead body in the mansion. He puts on his psych act and tells the police there is a crime at the mansion.

Psych Synopsis: "PSYCH" is a quick-witted dramedy about a young police consultant Shawn Spencer (James Roday, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that he’s convinced Santa Barbara PD detectives into thinking he's psychic. Raised in Santa Barbara by a family of cops, Shawn possesses uncanny powers of observation honed by his police officer father, Henry, who drilled young Shawn to note even the smallest of details from his surroundings as a way of grooming him for his inevitable career in the family business. With the reluctant assistance of his best friend Gus, Shawn uses his skills of observation and charismatic personality to become the detective he was trained to be, opening his own PI agency - Psych - and solving cases for an ever-suspicious, but grudgingly impressed, police force.

Okay, everybody's talking about the awesome relationship between Shawn and Juliet, but the relationship between Lassie and Juliet is one of the best in the series and maybe my favorite platonic relationship in fiction.

I think this is part of the reason Jules was so upset when she learned he wasn't psychic. If he could lie to her about being a psychic for so long and even beat a polygraph, he could've lied when he said he loved her.

There is no better cast on television than the Psych gang. The casting was pitch perfect for every character, the obvious bond between the cast is always top shelf, 100% of the time. they navigate drama, comedy, horror and EVERYTHING else perfectly and they never miss a beat. Even in the one or two unenjoyable episodes the show had the cast was electric. The chemistry between everyone in this show was (and still is, in the movies) off the charts.

This scene is so important because Shawn says he is psychic and confesses his love for Juliet
Everyone believes him(Except Lassie coz you know Lassie) and so does Jules
Later when Jules finds out that he is not a psychic
She snaps because he lied(of course)
But if the psychic thing isn't true them him confessing his love wouldn't have been true too.
