Pearson A level Maths, Pure year 2 Textbook (8.1)

In this video I introduce the basic idea of Cartesian equations and parametric equations of a curve. I then go onto explaining how to find the domain and range of a curve given parametrically.

I knew how to find the Cartesian equation but I found finding the domain and range difficult. The way you have taught it (using the graphs) have really helped

Quick and simple explanation, thanks brother

When making t the subject...do I always have to have it in the form y= or could I rearrange the simpler of the two and still get the marks . Or could I make t the subject of both equations and just put them equal to each other? Love the speed of your delivery. Great teaching thank you.

For the second example, are we incorrect if we sub t from the y-equation into the x-equation (the opposite way to how you've done it)?

When converting to Cartesian form, can you do x= instead of y=?

How do you find the domain and range with out drawing a graph

What if they ask you to leave a y=ax+b/x-1 form like this? What do you do?

Should you always sketch the graph in order to find the range and domain?

The solutions for a question similar to example 1 in your video doesn't state that x is any real number. Do you have to state x is any real number. I understand why and just want to clarify
