Boss Katana - Acoustic Channel

The Boss Katana has 5 different amp types with 2 variations for each amp. I've had always dismissed the acoustic amp as I didn't believe it would sound very good, but I was really surprised how good the acoustic channel on the Boss Katana sounded. In this video, we look at how to set up a natural acoustic tone. The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

I've used my Katanas over the years primarily for acoustic - using my Taylor and now primarily my Acoustasonic, and I've loved it for that. Great video showing how flexible the amp is, in that you can plug in an electric and get something totally usable, and likewise an acoustic. It's so rare to find an amp that does both.

This is my go-to channel since I bought my amp. The way you break it down makes life so much easier. Thanks so much!

Hi Paul. I got a Katana Artist Mark 2 yesterday. What a brilliant amp that is so flexible and great sounding. I'm loving the Acoustic channel and the power in for my GT-1000. Great video, thanks! 😎

Sounds great, and with the addition of a room mic, the blended results in a DAW sound exceptional.

I copied these settings into my Katana 50 and it sounds fantastic. I even tried this acoustic patch with my Ibanez AS73 and it’s great. Thanks

Recently got the 100w mk2, got to say these "bite size" videos are great. I'm learning loads from this series, the tones you can get are amazing.

Try adding in the FX > Guitar Sim (type H -> AC, but S -> AC also sounded ok). On my Katana mk2 100, with the Taylor 214ce Plus (same piezo and preamp as other models basically), I was able to get a more true to life tone by adding that. in combo with eq to get rid of the freq in the way I was able to get it to sound very close to what I was hearing when playing unplugged. Cheers

I just bought the 50w white amp, the acoustic channel is incredible. I get the acoustic guitar to sound just like the acoustic guitar unamplified. This amp is incredible.

This is one of the advantajes for why i got this amp, because its also works well for acoustics guitars and you have efects on it, most cheaper but same quality than fismans amps, and better sound than fender, vox etc.
