“Why do the Beatle records feel so great? One word: Ringo.'

The Beatles had many gifts. Genius songwriters. Superb musicianship. Wonderful singers. But the band's "feel," as is so often the case, had a lot to do with the drummer. Join The Weeklings' Joe Bellia as he gets behind the kit and digs into Ringo's special sauce.

Simple genius. I have heard really good drummers say there is more to Ringo than people think. Respect.

Ringo has to be the most underappreciated drummer in history.

It seems like Ringo's drumming has gained more appreciation over the years.

Guitarist here who doesn’t normally watch drum tuition, but this is fun and gold!

I was a child in the sixties and played Meet The Beatles and wore out the grooves. Every time I tried to tap out the beat, I would be amazed at Ringo's variation and style and faltered to keep up - AND I KNEW NOTHING OF MUSIC. The classic pop seemed effortless and joyful but it was purposeful and stylized. I mean, trying to karaoke is tricky with those sweet and yet rough vocals. Great demo and history lesson Joe!

T totally agree ... Ringo gave them that positive energy grove, splash and swing. You got that down pat, your a great drummer, because you make it look so easy.

I don't know much about drums but always enjoyed listening to Beatles songs and isolating instruments in my head. Ringo's choices add a tremendous amount to the sound and *feel* of the song.

Ringo's perfect tempo and versatility. Lennon used to say Ringo always knew where the band was going to.

I've watched this a dozen times are more and every time I love spending time with this guy who teaches so much in such a short time. but when he lays that groove down and gets that smile on his face your lookn at someone doing what God made them to do.

Ringo is the secret sauce. I absolutely love Lennon-McCartney and Harrison. I feel Ringo is on equal footing with the other 3 beatles. Without Ringo there would have been no Beatles

I think Ringo's drumming has been underappreciated in The Beatles for so long. It's often the drummer in a band that can make or break the sound and chemistry of a group. Led Zeppelin wouldn't have been Led Zeppelin without Bonham. The Who has never the same after Keith Moon passed away. Could you imagine Rush playing without Neil Peart? Ringo was the final piece of the puzzle to join The Beatles and he meshed perfectly. Just my two cents.
