With sunspot cycle 25 continuing to improve propagation for the 10-meter band, the 10-meter repeaters are becoming active. In this video I feature a couple of 10-meter repeaters, and I show the common frequencies where 10-meter repeaters can be found. One of the repeaters in this video is in New York and the other is in Canada.

When the sunspots gets stronger, the repeaters, even VHF will have to implement different PL tones in order to avoid giant weird feedback loops between repeaters. When you hear that, then you know the bands are open.

Josh KI6NAZ at Ham Radio Crash Course just did a live stream on how 10m is opening, and trying to get new Technician class licensees to start to experiment with HF. Especially with some of the Chinese 10/11/12m radios like the AnyTone AT-6666 (aka “quad six”) that can be had on a budget.
