Perturabo and his Iron Warriors were used, not for glorious, cinematic battles, but brutal, grinding, wars of attrition. Conflicts where even Astartes fell in droves for mere meters of earth. It didn't matter that they were superhuman, they bled and toiled like any mortal soldier. If any one Legion truly understands the horrors of war, it's the Iron Warriors. I truly believe that Perturabo and his Legion suffered the Astartes-version of PTSD, and that it broke them. They were never real heretics, just broken men.

It makes me think of your other video with the Lamenters how in the depths of his anguish the Lamenter captain feels himself descending into blackness and tells himself the same thing. But his brother chaplain is there to help pull him up and out of his despair. Its the same feeling that is shared between the the loyalist and chaos forces but its acted upon in opposite ways. What's sad for me about the Iron Warriors is that it didnt have to be this way. If you alienate yourself one day you'll find that you are alone and the people that could have helped you aren't there anymore.

This really seems like Perturabo questioning his whole existence after the Heresy, and everything that happened after that. Questioning why he threw away his duty to the Imperium or to his sons, perhaps? Maybe even questioning if he was truly ever meant to be a general or a warlord.
