I was looking for a new job recently, looked at government jobs available, and job postings literally said “preference will be given to people of color and visible minorities”. It’s blatant racism.

I was brought up on council estates, poor as hell, and had to work my arse off to get out of there and climb my way up. Yet when I went for a job, I was told I didn’t meet DEI requirements because I am white. That was the only diversity they were looking at, not anything I had done to climb out of poverty or anything else, just my skin colour.

I totally agree with you. I'm a CPA who happens to be Black. Only 2% of all CPAs in the US are Black and many organizations are trying to lower the standards to become a CPA in the name of DEI. Just one example is doing away with the 5 year degree requirement and advocating the substitution of "other" training to obtain a professional locense. It's disgusting and it minimizes the accomplishment of those who have the educational background and demonstrated their knowledge in applying the skills required in their /our craft.
