Mercedes CLS Lighting Settings Auto Lights On and Off Menu
How to access the lighting settings in your Mercedes Benz including ambiance light level

See step by step below.
You can change the automatic lighting settings on your 2008 Mercedes CLS through the multi-function display in the instrument cluster, controlled by buttons on the steering wheel. Here's a general guide:

Turn the key to position 1 or start the engine.

Use the left-hand side buttons on the steering wheel to navigate the menus. Look for options like "Settings," "Lighting," or similar. The exact wording may vary slightly.

Within the lighting menu, you should find options related to automatic headlights. This might be labeled "Auto Headlamps," "Exterior Lighting," or something similar.

Select the desired setting. You'll likely have options to turn the automatic headlights on or off. Some models may also offer adjustments for sensitivity or delay.
Confirm your selection.

Note: The exact menu layout and options can vary slightly depending on your specific model and region. If you're having trouble finding the settings, consult your owner's manual for detailed instructions and illustrations.
