The one thing about 'The Thing'

If this movie title too general? “The Thing” is about a terrifying, shapeshifting monster that attacks a group of scientists in Antarctica. This is a great film, but the title kinda makes me think of how sleep-deprived, scatterbrained parents refer to most movies and other stuff. “We saw ‘The Thing’ last night. You know, the thing!” Not a very specific title good for marketing, but being a sleep-deprived, scatterbrained parent myself, I actually like this title, so I think I’ll keep it. In fact, I think more movies should be called, “The Thing”.

No it isn't. It's iconic. There was no "the thing" before so it was perfect and new. And it stayed unique.
