You can hold q then e to ground tie your horse! (You must be riding and on grass)

Also press e to mount! I've gotten a lot of questions about that. ^^

Sorry if you knew all of these, this video was to help whoever didn't know these controls. Some I had to figure out myself by messing around, Red Dead isn't super clear all the time. And just to clarify: The spins are what I labeled as the "special move." I say that because it's never been listed anywhere.

At 0:45, walking backwards, the key to doing this is that you double-tap the Left CTRL key and hold it on the second press. So when you say, "you just hold ctrl, sometimes it can take a bit and you can tap it again", that's why it's working on the second tap. It's kind of odd behavior for a game, but if you hold down the Left CTRL on the first tap, it doesn't matter how long you hold it for (I held it down for 20 seconds just to see), once you release it and hold it down the second time, that's when you'll start moving backwards.

Also, there's more to the slides than just the CTRL key it seems. For me, I have to also release my forward movement key, hold CTRL and hold my backwards, left, or right key simultaneously.
