President Uhuru Kenyatta cleared to run for re-election

The President will battle it out with seven other candidates who also got the nod from iebc, to contest in the presidential race.

The President's clearance marked the end of the Presidential nomination exercise and as NTV's Brenda Wanga reports, the president has promised a robust defence of his first term, through a peaceful campaign.
