Nick Pavlakis, PhD, MBBS, FRACP, Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia, outlines highlights from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Gastrointestinal Cancers (GI) Symposium, including the Phase III SUNLIGHT (NCT04737187) trial of trifluridine/tipiracil (TAS-102; Lonsurf) plus bevacizumab versus bevacizumab alone in in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), as well as the Phase III SPOTLIGHT (NCT03504397) trial which evaluated zolbetuximab in patients with CLDN18.2-positive, HER2-negative, locally advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma.
