Fauci spars with Sen. Rand Paul: 'Masks are not theater'

In a Senate Covid-19 hearing today on Capitol Hill, Senator Rand Paul claimed that Dr. Anthony Fauci parades around with 2 masks "for show" despite the fact that he already received the vaccine. In response, Fauci says "Masks are not theater."

Oh please. It’s absolutely theater. “You have to wear a mask to walk into the bar but you can take it off once you get inside.”. You the NBA players have to have their masks on during press conferences but can sweat all over each other for 48 minutes a game. Sweden hasn't had any masks, lockdowns, social distancing, etc for MONTHS. Restaurants and malls are open and busy (many videos of this), and their deaths have trended down to almost zero from a peak of over 100 per day in mid December. Please explain.

I really wish that Rand would allow the person with actual expertise to explain his reasoning as to why he continues to wear a mask. Tbh, Rand’s uneducated and presumptuous rants are the “political theater”.
