PORPHYRA is a UNESCO Piraeus and InterAction Art AWARDED PRODUCTION.
Porphyra is: Billy Chrissochos on guitar, Mike "Risko" Savvas on guitar and tzoura, David Gibbs on bass guitar, Tracey Beavers on drums, Rafailia Kapsokavadi on violin and Dorit on vocals.
Special guests on back up vocals Triantafyllia, Theoni, and Despina Chrissochos.
*Despina sings Duet with Dorit.
Porphyra's Rock Opera “Anna and Vladimir: The love that ROCKED the world” debuted at Carnegie Hall and Off-Broadway.
Porphyra was founded in 2013, continuing the legacy of Billy Chrissochos and Chris Pollatos' group, Phoenix Reign (1998) and their cult album Destination Unknown (2007). Porphyra's first two albums, 2013's “Faith, Struggle, Victory," and 2017’s follow up “The Starmaker’s Prophecy” laid the foundation for the Rock Opera “Anna and Vladimir” and many other exciting projects. The single “City of Gold” off the new album “The Starmaker’s Prophecy” was also featured on the Amazon Prime’s series “Old Dogs/New Tricks. The albums fuse traditional Greek music with Hard Rock and Metal. Greek Mythology, History, Love and sci-fi themes make for compelling grand stories you must experience by listening for yourselves!
