Intro to Photoshop CS6 Part 1 - General interface

This video introduces the basic interface, UI, as well as the most fundamental concepts such as opening and closing a file, navigating an image, changing the size, changing the dimension and scaling an image. It answers most beginner's initial questions regarding Photoshop, such as which file formats to save as, and when to use jpg or png or psd for example. It also provides an easy and simple demonstration of how to use the grid and guide features of Photoshop. There's also a very brief introduction to computer graphics and digital images in general by covering what exactly a bitmap is and how RGB values are used to create an image of many colors. This video is the first in a multi-part series on the basics of Photoshop for digital artists, illustrators and designers.

Very Well done! Appreciate the slower pace. I consider myself a pretty quick study, but there is a lot to take in here. When your explaining something new to someone, that has multiple steps, they may be watching and trying to take in one part, while the instructor is already several mouse clicks ahead of your keeping up. It is hard, when you know something as well as you do, to remember just how many new things and orders a Newbie has to take in, in just a 15 minute video. Yours was one of the best I've listened to. I still think it would be a great help to watch it at least twice, to solidify everything. Many Thanks!!! A+

Excellent! Yeah, the hardest thing about these tutorials was coming up with exactly what I should leave out. I tried to focus on only the stuff I use all the time and not so much the cool fun fancy stuff... 'cuz you can do almost anything using just these solid basic features. This tutorial is very clear and very helpful. It is also sensitive to both Mac and PC users when it comes to keyboard shortcuts, which is not something that you'll see in every tutorial. Thanks a lot - and please keep this up :)

Yeah, I remember when that game came out - I was working at Microsoft then and the game blew everyone away! It scared the crap out of me - I couldn't really even play it.
