Prince William: 'I don't lie awake waiting to be king' BBC News

On the eve of the Queen's 90th birthday on Thursday, the next but one king - Prince William - has been speaking to the BBC about his grandmother, his interpretation of "royal duty" and recent criticisms that he is a somewhat "reluctant royal".
The prince also told the BBC's Royal Correspondent Nicholas Witchell about his own ambitions for the monarchy when he finally succeeds to the throne.

After I watched this interview of Prince William, I totally agree with what I have read. Prince William will be a great king when the time comes. I find him an intelligent young man! The BBC have taken the title of this video out of context. He wasn’t saying “I don’t want to be king”, he said “Me becoming king would mean my father and grandmother had both died and I don’t want that”

I have so much respect for Prince William. He's answering the questions without showing irritation because he knows people say so much bad stuff about them. At the time of this interview, he is an air ambulance pilot, which is a very impressive job, a husband, father, and working royal. I think his life seems exhausting so I don't see him as reluctant at all! He also made the comment that the Queen "hands down" more and more responsibility and that he will accept it as she continues to do so. He has taken on a lot more royal duties in the past year or so, and I think he genuinely wants to just do the best he can with his role. Lots of respect to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!!

The Duke is a well balanced and good Prince who will in the course of time become a great King. I think the UK is fortunate to have him and can enjoy the comfort of his leadership and strength for many years ahead. He is truly a noble Prince.
