transient state: a state which has a possibility of not being able to return to the initial state 
recurrent state: a state which does not have a possibility of not being able to return to the initial state

is this the correct way to think?

IF WE SEE B/W STATE 2 AND STATE 3 AS WE LEAVE STATE 2 AND GOES TO STATE 3 THEN WE CAN COME BACK TO STATE 2 SO IN THIS WAY STATE 2 CAN BE REVISITED AGAIN.
