My friend bought RDR2 and we wanted to play online together. As soon as he joined my lobby a hacker appeared and started putting my friend in cages. So it was a horrible first few minutes of the game. I can't believe Rockstar have given up on this game. So sad.
Thank you for this method, we will use it to play without assholes ruining the game.

Thank god for this video, man. Straight to the point, 60 seconds, no filler, and still works perfectly as of the time of writing this.

Shame Rockstar still won't do anything about the rampant cheaters in public lobbies, but now at least I won't have to worry about being randomly teleported 200 feet into the air, having a dozen invulnerable NPCs spawned on me, or having my moonshine/trade wagon tossed into a cliffside.

Just tested this out today. This is definitely the best PvE solution for RDO I've found so far.
It's such a shame that hackers have ruined the PvP aspect of this game.
Just adding some extra notes:
When adding the password, make sure there are no spaces in or around the password. Use ctrl+a to highlight all the text in notepad to double check there are no spaces.

I just bought RDO, this is my first day playing. I viewed the Player List, and saw some dude with a level 999 so I reported him for hacking. He then teleported next to me and screamed in his mic (its a lil kid) "i blocked your report! crash time!" then my game crashed. Thanks for this video, it works, and I'll never play in a public lobby again.

This genuinely fixed almost all the problems I've been having with the game (minus the persistent bugs or idiotic game design choices). But aside from just allowing me to completely avoid players, especially the ones I obviously don't want to anything to do with, playing with this fixes a substantial amount of issues and general jank with the game. The things I've noticed from playing a few hours so far, for example:

1. Bodies and carcasses don't disappear when I dare to wander more than 10 meters away, so I don't have to focus on skinning or looting while in a gunfight, before the game just takes them away from me before I've had a chance to do so (I'm assuming this is because the de-spawn radius is greatly increased with you being the only player in the session, or one of very few, if you play with friends)
2. When I enter my Moonshine Shack, I no longer have that stupid shit happen where no NPC's spawn, including Maggie and Marcel, and I would have to just exit and enter repeatedly until the game finally decided to spawn them in as well
3. I no longer just stand in the middle of the stables if I dared to walk in without having my horse flee before entering, and also giving it a minute or so to actually de-spawn after sending it away

I'm sure there are a ton of other such nice little nuggets that shouldn't be a problem to begin with, and I look forward to seeing what other things work properly now. Thanks a ton for this, brought a genuine smile to my face!

Thanks again, you deserve this, if I didn't find this video, I would not be able to play with my girlfriend, and it's such a beautiful game to play together, it could be all ruined because of a stupid cheater that teleported to us and killed us every session, now he's gone.
