In this video, Dr. Athre discusses TCA Chemical Peels. Chemicals peels can improve skin quality, skin texture, reduce fine lines and even be used to treat acne scarring.

A chemical peel removes layers of the skin with phenol, alphahydroxy acids and trichloroacetic acid. These chemicals are used at the discretion of the person providing the treatment. These chemicals might be used in different amounts based on the judgment of the person in charge of the procedure. Some plastic surgeons use this procedure when they perform a facelift. This procedure may remove some cells that might develop later into cancer of the skin. A chemical peel may also be used to remove acne. Both of these procedures have become very popular because of the positive results.

Thank you for this. I would love to see before and afters. Also how close to the eye can you get? How safe is it? Is the "injury" causing the skin to produce collegen and elastin and therefore lifting the skin? How would you compare it with fillers or even a facelift? Thanks for your answers.
