Coach David teaches you how to do the line drill. You can work on your slide position and your balance. You just need a line and some type of weight to swing in your arm to work on your game at home.

Good job David. For those of you that do not have a tape measure or string, painter tape non carpet/rug floors, works real well. Thanks again David and the Kegel team.

I have a slight advantage. My house has wood floors. I can actually put on my bowling shoes and get the "real feel" using this drill. I also have a 15 lb dumbbell that I can use for the swing. My alignment simply follows the boards in the floor. Thanks for this drill at home, David & Kegel!

At a Kegel Clinic last October, a new footwork pattern was presented to the class.

The pattern for a five-step athlete was taught as: straight, second step in front of previous, straight, straight and straight. In this method the ball is placed on the line of play during the second step and stays on the line of play through approach and release.

Your drill seems to conflict with this as your last step is going in front of the previous step. If that tape measure is your line of play then your ankle needs to be five boards left of the tape measure for the ball to roll down the line of play.

Your initial setup and a straight final step would have provided adequate ball/ankle distance for you to roll the ball down the intended line of play.

Just constructive criticism.

Too much talking, not enough demonstrating!
