learn how to turn on always on display in Standy Mode iOS 17. Only pro iPhones released in 2022 or later can turn on Always On Display in Standby Mode.

Just ridiculous that they would make you buy the pro for this.

Thank you for explaining this. I've been looking forward to Standby Mode, only to find out it's not what I was expecting at all. It's not worth getting the latest Pro just for that though.

I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Standby Mode "Always on" control DOES NOT WORK AS DESCRIBED IN THIS VIDEO. It says "When Always On is enabled, the display will intelligently turn off when not in use". So when I try to use it as a bedside clock, it turns off. I posted a question on Apple Support, and Apple Support claimed the question was bad and deleted it.

They should implement settings to have standby always on until you turn it off for every iphone that has the standby feature. Absolutely ridiculous how it only shows up for a few seconds and then turns off

Solution: If you are on a phone that doesn't remain on, IF you are listening to music via your phone or have something playing in the background, you can turn on live captions by going into Accessibility -> Accessibility Shortcut -> Check Live Captions, then whilst in standby mode triple click the power button and enable live captions. This will take a small chunk of the screen but the phone will stay on forever. Hope this helped 👍

Is there any workaround for this for iphone 12?

Yeah no. It will not stay on. It literally says under the Always On option that it will turn off. What is even the point of this feature? I want it ON all.night. I want to glance over half asleep and just see the time. Not have to wave my hand around or bump the table to wake it up.

But I thought it was bad to charge your battery to 100%???
If you have Standby on all night (for the clock) you will be at 100% by the morning?

It does not stay on all the time though. I get why (to prevent burn in) but it sucks a little :(

I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. The screen stays on in most cases — EXCEPT when the Sleep focus mode is on. It's infuriating since the whole point of this feature for me is to have it at night and be able to see the time if I wake up during the night. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Thank you.

Just when I thought Apple was getting really innovative, I learn that they’re gatekeeping “always on” feature unless you buy a 14 or newer 😂… typical Apple, I should’ve kept my 21 ultra

Thank you so very much ❤
I have I phone 14 and the screen keeps going off … it is so not okay for that option not to be available on all phones … Is it true that if a yellow dot light on the top of the screen shows up we are being violated, something like that 😮
🙏
