Anton Caceres - Running WebSockets easy with Python

Показать описание
Anton Caceres - developer and entrepreneur running a software agency in Munich. Organizer of the PyConWeb and other tech events. Deeply involved in Python community, happy to learn and share.
The request-response era on the web is retiring, let’s face it. Modern web-apps rely on bi-directional communication, reacting not only to UI input but also to events coming from the server side. Fortunately, we now have WebSockets – a protocol developed to cover precisely these needs.
Although most of web-frameworks do not support Web Sockets out of the box, Python has multiple handy options available. This talk showcases integrating Web Sockets in Python web-apps, focusing on situations that can make good use of it and presenting implementation in most popular frameworks. We will explore the similar style and different underlying technologies in Python libraries, try out the same thing with Javascript, and finish with a live demo.
