My theory: “mermaids” probably do exist (or have a good chance of) because of how much undiscovered areas there are in the sea however, they are probably not pretty with colorful tales…probably very scaly creatures with gills

I feel like mermaids wouldn't be as pretty or magical as we imagine them if we were to actually discover and encounter them. I think they'd be a little bit scary looking if you ask me. Think about it....🤔

My grandma said that back in the day, she looked out of her window in the morning and saw a bunch of fishermen making a commotion( she lived next to the ocean). She wanted to go down even though her mum told her not to but she went anyway ( she was about 12?). She saw a net with a mermaid looking creature in it. It didn’t look how your typical mermaid looks but more like a fish with a human head and torso. She got scared and ran back to her mum.
She always uses his story to teach me and my siblings that there is so much that we don’t know and to humble ourselves and not get cocky.
