Wait...You Can Grow Pineapples From Seed?! Here's How.

We really out here growing pineapple seeds. And YES, pineapples have seeds, and they're found beneath the skin and the flesh. If you're lucky, after a few months they will germinate (once you extract them from the fruit and get them on a damp piece of paper towel to germinate). Then, you can plant them in soil and wait for the growth of your baby pineapple plant!
Ofc you can grow the pineapples the 'regular' way from the crown, but we try what's difficult so growing the seeds is way more fun.
If you're growing from crown, you can get your pineapple in around a year. If you're growing from seed, it will take up to 6 years!

I live in Hawai’i and have experience growing pineapples. Twist and pull the whole crown out of the top of the fruit and plant that. It grows much faster than if you start from seed. Will start to fruit in a year. Once it’s developed enough it’ll pop out more baby crowns from the underside. Twist those off and plant them too.

Most places near me de-crown them to sell. But its not quite warm enough here to get them within a year either unless you have a hot house (you best believe I’m planning a hot house hehe)
