Hey y'all, Y'all done made me homesick this morning. I used to love sugar cane season we would buy some at the A&P crack it in half with a pocket knife and ride it home on our bikes. We would go one one almost everyday. Mama would boil up the the pieces and make cane syrup. We would roast pecans and put the syrup on the and broil in the oven to make them crisp sweet and crunchy. I sure loved growing up as a boy in Mississippi. It was nothing like growing up here in Minnesota. God bless y'all take care bye for now

When I was a kid, many many years ago lol, my dad bought us each a sugar cane stalk from the grocery store. It was a rare treat for us Northern kids! I gnawed on it for hours! Yum!
