Install a Grab Bar to a Tile Shower

Installing a grab bar in a tile shower can be a intimidating. This video shows how it’s done by an expert contractor. Ultimately, the plastic anchors provided by the company were used with a very good fixation to the tile. Back up of toggle bolts were available just in case fixation was inadequate. However, the plastic anchors did the job, and no toggle bolts, which require larger holes, were needed in the tile were needed. Hope this is helpful.

How did you do the layout marks? I always just put it up and then drop the centers with a pencil, but this looks much more accurate. I always end up not quite getting it plumb.

How many pounds are those anchors weighted for? I'm not trusting those will hold over time.

Very helpful, did you go into a stud behind the wall?...Do I need to locate the stud to install a grab or can us anchors of some sort?
