Uric Acid Test : Normal range & Interpret High Uric Acid Levels

Normal Reference Range in Males is 3.5 to 7 mg/dL & in Females is 2.5 to 5.5 mg/dL . Uric cid normal range , metabolism and Interpretation of increased uric acid in the presence of or in the absence of gout symptoms are discussed in the video.

High Uric acid levels in the absence of symptoms is not recommended except in the following conditions

1. Persistent uric acid values greater than 13 mg/dl in males and greater than 10mg/dl in females.
2. Patients who are about to start with chemotherapy.
3. Patients with increased urine uric acid values of greater than 1100mg/day.
