I got my first bank box of pennies Thursday and today I found a shinny Red 1962s DDO. No mistaking it. Plus there's doubling on the ONE CENT on the reverse. I'm pretty much speechless right now. It's in great condition. I'm stoked and not sure what to do. I can see it closeup on my digital microscope and no question about the doubling.

if people were keeping every copper penny like they're suppose to then no one would miss something like this..

man this just makes me hungry for a $25 box. fun became acadamia and the knowledge of variety, the different errors, mintage amounts+ rarity. My direction has been finding those 86 d, 1983, 72's, 71'2 60's. 87d etc. I have found a lot that of 60's that still have 30% red. anyway I watch you and have learned a lot about all aspects of the numismatic way of life and I thank you.

i have been watching these. it seems from the ones i own and what i have seen for sale online is that a good sign it is the true DDO is when the S is within a straight line from tail to tail of the two 9s...

I am new to coin collecting. I found a 1969 S penny this evening. It does not have the double die appearance compared to the one n this video, but it is crisp, and clear. What reputable company do I send it to in order to have it authenticated and verified? I also found a 1902 wheat penny too. Thank you.

Blue Hound. Just found a 69 S DDO here in NorCal near Citrus Heights in a customer wrapped roll. I wish I could meet you. I've learned a lot watching your videos. This one has major doubling on liberty and date only and is x.f. 40 range. I found three different double died in the same roll.

I found one in my collection. I have saved coins for 40 years. Do you have a video on what to do to get it graded? Thanks for talking about this coin. Kay

I have a 1969 double struck liberty. It’s been in circulation but it looks like a-year-old.

So, just to be clear, the machine doubling is what's going on with the 'S' mint mark, right? Am I right in stating that the mint mark is added after the the other fields, so any doubling of the mint mark (short of an RPM), would have to be machine doubling, as mint marks are unrelated to the doubling within the die?

Excellent find but wonder what magnification to make the error stand out like that.  I have a hard time searching for coin errors because of eyesight issues.  I read somewhere that when this error was noticed in 1969, the secret service was going out and seizing the 1969 pennies, but it seems like an awesome task on their part?
