I have an AML EZ1073. I replaced the Wima capacitors with Mullard Mustard capacitors in the EQ section, and the bass sounds a bit thicker than yours. The midrange is the same except the high freq, that I a huge silver mica caps and I think it sounds a little more accurate (at that time I don't think capacitors of that capacity existed.). I also replaced the electrolytic capacitors with Sprague wet tantalum capacitors instead of the vintage solid capacitors (which, to me, sound better), following the original scheme. I replaced some creamic and film capacitors with vintage Philips polystyrene capacitors. The vintage blue Philips electrolytic capacitors. The output transformer is an exact replica of the best Marinair capacitor (some have a secondary resistance of 30 + 30 ohms, while others have 20 + 20 ohms).
Can I tell you that it sounds thicker than some vintage 1073 I've heard? A few years ago, they were sold at a reasonable price. But now they're a luxury. I've probably spent around €200 on the modification and a day of soldering. Conclusion... if you're interested and patient, there's no need to spend a fortune on something that isn't worth its current price. The manufacturing components aren't expensive. Anyway, congratulations on your preamp and for sharing the video. Best regards

Hello. Excellent demonstration. I have a serious question. Can you please answer this? What kind of signal chain are you thinking of when you listen to “dr.beat” (Miami sound machine)? My guess is something like api 2500/5500. Neve33609. Neve style eq is there too. RMX16 reverb. Recorded thru Neve (or just recorded thru SSL preamp.) Mixed on SSL. What does your gut instinct say? My gut instinct says there is a strong API sound somewhere. And a Neve 33609 is used instead of a G comp. Is there tubetec Clb somewhere in the chain too?Thank you for reading and have a great day.
