Murter is an island close to the Croatian coast of the Adriatic. It is located at the very heart of Dalmatia and is the biggest island in the well-indented Šibenik archipelago. It is separated from the mainland by a narrow sea canal spanned by a short draw-bridge at the town of Tisno. This is where we start our tour of this beautiful Dalmatian island. There are four towns in total on the island: Tisno, Jezera, Murter and Betina - each offering authentic Dalmatian ambiance, great tourist service and beautiful natural surroundings. After exploring Tisno's narrow stone streets we proceed to the next Town - Jezera, by taking a relaxing promenade by the sea and under the pine trees, enjoying the sounds of crickets, birds and joyful swimmers. Next is the Town of Murter - the biggest and oldest town on the island. And finally, after zig-zagging through the Murter old town and strolling by the Murter's lovely waterfront marina, we arrive at Betina - a quaint village, often mentioned as one of the most picturesque Dalmatian spots. We finish with a 15-minute car ride from Betina back to Tisno, where we leave the Island of Murter, knowing that we'll visit this beautiful place again soon. :)
