Debbie Nelson, Mother of Eminem, Dies at 69: Reports

Debbie Nelson, mother of rapper Eminem has reportedly died at a hospital in Missouri according to TMZ. Nelson, who also went by Debbie Mathers, was reported to have terminal lung cancer in September. She was also said to still be estranged from her famous son. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

My mom almost died a week ago, had emergency surgery with a less than 20% chance to make it out. My mom also has a long history of drug abuse and not being there for me and my brother when we were kids. I have been visiting the hospital every day for the past week and she just got out of the ICU and in a different part of the hospital. I wish I had a perfect mother, but I realize we all have our problems and our struggles and I refuse to quit loving my mom regardless of what she has put us through. I think Em will eventually regret not seeing his mother before she passed.

A lot of people talk bad about him for dissing his mom but they've obviously never had an abusive parent. I don't know that I would say it's right or wrong, but how does the pain of an abused child compare to that of an abused woman (from an intimate relationship)?

I always felt really bad for her. She looked so depressed after what her son did. Stress & depression causes cancer. He did that to further his career. RIP
