Krishna Yajur Veda Chanting | Vedic Mantras #youtubevideos #vedmantra #India

The Vedas (knowledge) are a large body of religious texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism.

The Yajurveda Samhita consists of prose mantras. It is a compilation of ritual offering formulas that were said by a priest while an individual performed ritual actions such as those before the yajna fire.
Yajurveda mantras comes from an early Indian Iron Age, after c. 1200 and before 800 BCE. corresponding to the early Kuru Kingdom. The Yajur Veda is divided into two parts - the white or "pure" Yajur Veda known as Shukla, and the black or "dark" Yajur Veda known as Krishna. The white Yajur Veda deals with prayers and specific instructions for devotional sacrifices, whereas the black Yajur Veda deals with sacrificial rituals.

This recording was received from Dr. N. GopalaKrishnan (Senior Scientist in CSIR), director of Indian Institute of Scientific Heritage.

Namaste
We chant Shanti 3 times at the end of mantras to address the 3 types of suffering.
Known as Tapa traya these three types are
Adyatmika : Caused by oneself through vices like Anger, hatred etc.
Adhi Bhautika : Caused by the Bhutas, the elements, the externals
Adhi Daivika : Caused by Devatas
The shanti mantras, which bestow peace upon an individual, in Rig Veda are divided into 3 groups
Sham No Mantras : Sham means peace and well being
Svasti Mantras : Svasti means to be in a state of illumination
Bhadra Mantras : Bhadra means auspiciousness and happiness
Thanks
