Arizona woman swept away by flooding in Grand Canyon

An urgent search is underway for an Arizona hiker who was swept away by flash flooding in the Grand Canyon.

She was swept away in HAVASU CANYON on the HAVASUPAI INDIAN RESERVATION. The national park service announced they found her body in the Colorado river 20 miles downstream.

Four of my cousins died in an AZ flash flood. Be careful. It can be dry where you're at and raining miles away, and still be at risk. Be aware, stay alive.

This is really sad nothing is more powerful on earth than water. I couldn't believe how fast water moves in the desert till I moved from the Midwest to Southern California. It's incredible and it's terrifying

I have seen whole small trees, 2 foot boulders, hundreds of tangled branches, dead animals, and liquid mud clear across the wash. If you are in that, your chances are low. Stay away, in rainy season. If a flash flood is coming, Run! Nobody can stand against that.
