Prius Prime vs Tesla Model 3 Plug in Hybrid vs EV Range Price Weight Size Side by Side

The biggest shame on Tesla right now is that, long-distance travel in their cars, is sixty percent more expensive, than a Prius Prime running on gasoline! Sixty cents per kilo-watt-hour is what they are charging for their Superchargers around California. In contrast, the Prius Prime easily covers, more than fifty miles in a gallon of fuel, at an impressively low cost of ten cents per mile. But charging on a home charger cost half of that, less than five cents a mile. That is exactly why plug-in hybrids like the Prius Prime, still make more sense than Pure EVs. It will be just as cheap to run as a Model-three in city traffic, but way cheaper on longer trips. Not to forget, the Prius Prime can easily add three times the range of a Model three in one third of the the time! That's not all, the Prius Prime is also twenty percent cheaper than the most basic, rear-wheel-drive variant of the Model-three. The Prius Prime is a few inches smaller than the Model three in terms of dimensions and does not have a frunk. But Tesla has one party piece up its sleeve, but only if you opt for the long range variant. And that is its ballistic acceleration! Any plug-in with that much performance, costs a lot more than the Model three!

Tesla Model 3 is a pain on long trips. Tesla Supercharger Pricing has crept up to 60 cents per kWh already, that is $36 for full-charge on a RWD-Model 3, which covers 225 miles on the Interstate, in a full charge, that's 16-cents per mile. For a car that can do 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds (Model 3 Long Range), 16-cents per mile is fantastic. However, 16-cents per mile is a bad deal for car that can do 0-60 mph in 5.8 sec.

No, they don’t, most drivers of EV‘s do not rely on charging infrastructure outside of their homes. I have owned an EV for years and have never used a supercharger or outside charging station.

I honestly dont get where your math is coming from cause in California gas is about $4.60, supercharge $0.34-.40 , off peak home $0.27

Even if that was true to fill uo them entire gas tank will be like over 50.00
While tesla at home 18 .00 off peak, super charger 21-26.00 .its about the same . I think you can probably get more range on tesla if you drive efficiently. The only othercar that can beat tesla in efficiency would be the Hyundai ioniqic blue mpg 59 overall can even be 60

The only real benefit to owning a Prius over a Model 3 is the longevity and reliability of owning a Toyota. The Prius is an awful roadtripping car in regards to size, comfort, and road noise levels. It still suffers from standard ICE engine maintenance, such as frequent Oil changes, air filter replacements, and brake pad wear. The Chevy Bolt is a better car to compare the Prius to.
